Senior roles that may reveal what a company is building or changing: capital management, investments, reinsurance, underwriting, M&A, distribution and transformation. Each links to the original advertisement and keeps what the advertisement states apart from our reading. A vacancy is a stated hiring requirement, not proof that a capability exists or that a restructuring or transaction is planned. Routine or generic roles are not included.
Current signals placed by the date of the development (or of its latest material step), across the six-month window ending today.

Zurich reported business operating profit of USD 4,767m for the first half of 2026, against USD 4,227m a year earlier, and net income attributable to shareholders of USD 3,489m against USD 3,065m. The P&C combined ratio was 92.7%, against 92.4%. The estimated SST ratio was 266% at 30 June 2026, before the March 2026 capital raise is reflected.
Our interpretation · working hypothesis
With the P&C combined ratio slightly higher (92.7% against 92.4%), the 13% rise in operating profit came mainly from higher P&C volume, investment results and Life rather than from a better P&C ratio: P&C operating profit rose USD 377 million on revenue about 8% higher, and Life added USD 240 million. Zurich's commentary shows reserve development and catastrophe losses moving in opposite directions by region, so the half-year ratio says little about underlying margins; the full-year combined ratio excluding catastrophes and prior-year development is the test of whether they are holding.
